About Us

Amongst the hill that contains lush, indigenous vegetation lies a boundless place that goes by the name, Penryn College. This is the first independent high school in the Lowveld region. What was just a thought inspired by Enos Mabuza, Bill Carter, David Wylde along with many others, was soon to be a reality that would prove to change a lot of lives. 

They had the idea of using Penryn as the light on the hill; they wanted to contribute to the new dawn South Africa was soon approaching in the early 1990s. The thought of inspiring children to go to school and get a better education, was what got this project started. 31 years later, we live in the world for which they worked tirelessly. A world with no racial segregation, one with equality, education for all and many more. We now stand on the hill and shine the light in times of darkness. 

As a school we do a lot that cannot reach everyone by word of mouth, hence the decision to move with the ever-developing world and go online. Our website will cover in more detail what interesting things happen throughout the various grades. This student-led publication will be the first of its kind at Penryn College and it will cover academic excellence, enticing sport events and cultural activities.
